Renner Springs Desert Inn is located 160 kilometres north of Tennant Creek and 500 kilometres south of Katherine. The inn was named in honour of Dr Frederick Renner, medical officer to the men working on the Overland Telegraph Line who discovered the springs when he noticed flocks of birds converging in the area.The area is rich in history and the lagoon and spring support a large range of the Territory’s natural bird life including brolga, galah, owl, duck, pelican, honeyeater and bustard.
