Located alongside HMAS Albatross, home of the Navy's Fleet Air Arm, is Australia's largest aviation museum and the state's largest regional museum with more than 5000 square metres of display space. The Aviation Collection exhibited is of world standard. The fully enclosed hangar and exhibition centre houses one of this country's best displays of historic aircraft - both military and civil - and related memorabilia. Over 30 fixed and rotary wing aircraft, some now very rare, are displayed alongside a wide range of Navy and general aviation related artefacts.
It’s just two and a half hours drive south of Sydney and it has a souvenir shop, covered playground and barbecue areas and a function centre overlooking active military airfield. Regular air shows are held twice a year.
