Hi!
I have many people coming to me because they are run down from balancing the demands of family life with work life. Unfortunately this means their own health gets put aside. So this is where their journey with me usually begins - mapping out a plan that they can maintain for the long-term. Here we will take a detailed look at their weekly schedule and discuss ways that we can make changes so that they are getting adequate rest, quality nutrition and regular exercise. This is not always easy because of the time constraints placed on them from their family and work commitments, but it is essential and little progress will be made unless the necessary steps are taken to meet these pillars. Because of this, we only make changes to their weekly routine that we believe are realistic and sustainable. From there, it is my job to guide them and keep them on track.
This is probably the most important role that I play - making exercise fun. I work out which exercises that they enjoy, and show them that it's ok to relax when exercising. Plus, once they feel the endorphins kick in after a session, they start to look forward to the feeling.
As I show them different ways to think about exercise, my client's mindsets begin to change, and with time they begin to feel energized after a workout and actually look forward to exercising. (Talk to a gym junkie and they will tell you that they start to feel grumpy if they miss a workout.)
I utilize a number of methods to help people reach their goals such as HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), weights/resistance training, boxing, power training, and progressive overload programs (depending on the client's goals).
Whether it be weight-loss, aerobic fitness, speed, strength or power, I train people both online and in person to help them achieve their goals.
It may take a little while, but imagine a future where you have reached your goals and are living the life you want to.
