What makes Kids On The Move Physiotherapy unique? We are a fully home visiting service that provides treatment for children ranging from newborns to teenagers suffering from musculoskeletal / gross motor concerns. These include:
(1) Developmental delays / concerns (baby born pre-term, poor head control, not tolerating tummy time, not rolling/sitting/crawling/ walking as others their age, unusual movement patterns eg. bottom shuffling or commando crawling)
(2) General orthopaedic conditions eg. plagiocephaly (flat spot on back of babies head), torticollis (twisted neck), head orientation preference, knock knees, bow legs, talipes (tightness of muscles in the feet), toe walking, flat feet, intoeing (pigeon toed)
(3) Difficulty with co-ordination and balance eg. frequent tripping/falling; clumsy running/jumping or ball skills
(4) Muscle strength or tonal concerns eg. low muscle strength/endurance/tone (baby may feel floppy to hold); or high muscle tone (baby feels stiff to hold)
(5) General developmental and handling advice and techniques for new parents
(6) Rehabilitation following injury/fracture/surgery
(7) Rapid growth spurt related issues in pre-teens and teenagers eg. Sever's Disease and Osgood-Schlatter Disease
We are committed to providing a service that is convenient for parents and their children. We provide a home visiting service because being in a familiar environment allows your child to feel at ease and hence a more efficient assessment and treatment session can be carried out. Clinic appointments are also available for children with conditions that cannot be treated in their own homes (contact us for details).
