"Leonie Patrice is a Registered Psychologist and Medicare service provider and principal of Wellbeing Psychology Services. She has 25 years experience of working professionally as a therapist. The research on the effectiveness of therapy, regardless of what therapy is used, demonstrates the most important factor is the quality of the therapeutic alliance. That is, you feel comfortable with the therapist and you feel their empathy for you and your experience of what you are going through.
Clinically, Leonie uses a wholistic approach, exploring with you the factors, both problem areas and strengths in the various aspects of your life. She can assist you to release stress and trauma, and draw on your strengths to regain the sense of being in charge of your life and moving towards an experience of well-being.
Her approach is client centred and Leonie blends a variety of interventions most suited to you as an individual. These interventions include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, Sand Play Therapy, Prepare and Enrich for Couples, Transactional Analysis, Positive Psychology, Energy Medicine, Mindfulness, Hypnosis and Energy Psychology.
Leonie has facilitated many individuals to improve their mental health and level of well-being in both individual and group settings. She works with individuals, couples and families across the lifespan (children, adolescents adults and seniors).
As well as working with each client according to their individual presentation and the case formulation, Leonie helps you to develop the skills needed to assist your continuing well-being when the usual 6-10 sessions have been completed under Medicare. She can also be an ongoing resource person in your life, someone who knows you and your life history that you can go and see as needed. "
