Pregnancy, birth & postpartum are an important time for most women and partners. A Doula can help support a woman and her family during the pregnancy right through to after the arrival of the new baby. The Doula provides the much-needed continuity of care that currently lacks in our mainstream maternity care in Australia. The Doula provides visits & support during the pregnancy, when labor begins she would come to be by your side & remain with you supporting you either in your home, birth centre or hospital until 2 hours after the birth of the baby and then would visit you again a few time after the birth of your baby during the 6 week postpartum period. She also remains in contact with you from the moment you hire her until your baby turns 6 weeks old to talk to you about anything you wish to talk about, provide you with information, referrals and support whenever you need it.

Canberra Birth Services is run by Lee an Early Childhood Educator, Doula & Childbirth Educator who is the mother of 3 children of her own (3 different birth experiences: natural drug free birth in hospital, natural drug free breech birth in hospital and a c-section birth). Lee is happy to support all birth choices (this includes VBAC, Cesarean, Hospital Birth with Pain Relief, Hospital Birth with No Pain Relief, Birth Centre Birth, Homebirth).
Canberra Birth Services provides services to people in Canberra & Queanbeyan - from time to time Lee is able/happy to take on clients in other regions outside Canberra such as locations within NSW also.
