Michael, Dianne and the Coorey family welcome you to the 'New' Spotted Cow. The hotel has undergone a major refurbishment, the first since 1991. The revamped Spotted Cow is focused on catering for the changing taste of Toowoomba's increasingly sophisticated beer-drinks whilst maintaining the old world elements and their trademark service.
The hotel was first licensed in 1892, formerly known as 'The Lukona', it is now one of Queensland's iconic pubs. Owned and operated by the Coorey family for nine years, The Spotted Cow welcomes visitors from across Australia whilst fast developing a reputation as the benchmark for fine food on the Darling Downs.
The outstanding success of the 150 varieties of imported and boutique beers available at the Spotted Cow Cellars has been the inspiration for the latest development on the Toowoomba hospitality scene - 'Oropa' European Beer Cafe.
The Spotted Cow now features 'Oropa'. It boasts many of the authentic European items needed to replicate the theatre that is involved with serving these unique brews, including beer fonts imported from Belgium. The European beer range has been hand picked by Phil Coorey and the Oropa Beer Sommelier Ian Watson.
The Spotted Cow remains the 'Home of Rugby on the Downs' with the Vintage Jersey Bar set to be a haven for rugby fans.
The Coorey family's collection of rugby jerseys is the highlight of the bar with more than 60 vintage jerseys showcased. The jerseys have been donated by rugby players at all levels with the highlights of the collection being personally signed Wallabies and All Blacks jerseys. There's a special story behind each jersey and the Coorey boys; Phillip, Matthew, Frank and Andrew are always on hand and happy to share a few rugby tales!
