Muscle pain is most frequently related to tension, overuse, or muscle injury from exercise or physically demanding work. In these situations, the pain tends to involve specific muscles and starts during or just after the activity. It is usually obvious which activity is causing the pain.
My specialty is in releasing muscle tension and pain associated with specific occupations or sporting activities, increasing the range of movement and re-aligning the body to permit correct function.
I target specific areas of need, as an example, for an office worker we may need to focus predominantly on specific neck and shoulder muscles. These muscle groups often cause referred pain and a reduced range of shoulder movement due to postural changes.
Following the initial consultation a treatment plan is developed. This can include specific techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy and deep tissue massage. Most clients experience a genuine state of deep relaxation and optimal healing.
Remedial massage is beneficial for sports and workplace injuries, specific ailments such as sciatica and arthritis, and is even common place in the management of post traumatic stress disorders.
Whilst I have a technical Diploma of Remedial Massage, am a member of the Association of Massage Therapists (AMT), my practical application of massage skills have been developed over several years of ongoing post graduate training through working partnerships with leading health practitioners.
(Please note: I am a professional that works with therapeutic intention. I will terminate a session immediately if the client speaks or acts inappropriately).
