Kick Start Occupational Therapy offers support in the following areas:
- Fine Motor Skills- writing, cutting, drawing
- Gross Motor Skills- balance, coordination, organising and planning movements, ball skills
- School Readiness- letter and number recognition, reading, writing and following instructions.
- Feeding and Mealtimes
- Self-care Skills (Dressing, Toileting, Bathing, Grooming)
- Play and Social Skills
- Attention and Concentration
- Positive Behaviour Management
- Sensory Processing needs and Emotional Regulation
We are a client-centred practice and believe that working collaboratively with the child, their family, teachers and other health professionals is the key to successful outcomes. We provide a holistic service to assist children and adolescents to overcome developmental and learning concerns to achieve their goals and overall achieve optimal quality of life.
Services are offered to children with or without a diagnosis. We assist with delayed skills in the areas outlined above. We also provide services for children with a variety of additional needs including learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADD/ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Chromosomal disorders and Developmental Delay.
Our service is currently mobile allowing children to be seen in their school, day care or home environments. However clinic space is available if required.

FaHCSIA/Better Start Funding:
Kick Start Occupational Therapy is a panel approved service for both FaHCSIA and Better Start funding. This funding is for children who have a diagnosis of ASD, or Cerebral Palsy, vision/hearing impairment, Fragile X and Down Syndrome.
