Home Hill is a winery, cellar door and restaurant at Ranelagh, in Tasmania’s Huon Valley. Ranelagh is a 30-minute drive south of Hobart (40 kilometres) and five minutes from Huonville (eight kilometres).
Established in 1993, Home Hill’s five-hectare (12 acre) vineyard is planted with pinot noir, chardonnay and sylvaner grapes. You can taste wines from the Home Hill collection at the cellar door, including the award-winning pinot noir and pinot noir reserve, sylvaner, unwooded chardonnay, reserve chardonnay, sparkling cuvee and a late harvest sticky.
Home Hill’s elegant rammed earth and glass building also houses the restaurant, which has a seasonal, a la carte menu based on the freshest Huon Valley produce. Glass walls enable stunning views of the vineyard, surrounding farmland and mountains. Home Hill also hosts regular live performances, including a resident pianist and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra Virtuosi.
The Home Hill Winery Restaurant is part of southern Tasmania’s wine touring route.
