Fergussons of Yarra Glen lies among rising hills at the northern end of the Yarra Valley. The vineyard has been in the same family for 30 years, and Peter and Louise Fergusson have kept to the tradition of wining and dining in their own welcoming style. The rows of gnarled vines that are a feature of the estate are some of the district’s oldest. Tastings and cellar door sales of the outstanding wines are available. But fine wine is always at its best when served with fine food. Fergusson’s Restaurant offers a distinctive menu, using the freshest produce of the Yarra Valley, which has been developed by Louise Fergusson, Culinary Olympics gold medallist and graduate from La Varene in Paris. As well as the famous spit roast, the restaurant has a selection of regional dishes with premium Fergusson Yarra Valley wines to match. Functions are catered for with a capacity of up to 150 people. Weddings are a speciality and there are private dining rooms for smaller groups. Master cookery classes are also conducted by Louise for groups of 10 or more. With luxury accommodation on site, hot-air ballooning available with champagne breakfast nearby, Fergussons of Yarra Glen makes for a superbly indulgent experience.
