Great experience the moment I got in even though it was late the management book me in with no problem and then helped while I parked up the van. The manager then showed me around and the pool the laundry and the toilets and showers they both were so helpful would like so many more like them.
The problem is that the pads are old and cracking and they are built for little caravans not our newer modern ones but I would say that it is still a good place to stay with the management team they have there now both Murray and Julie were so helpful in so many way from food to shops they were there for me over the couple of days I stayed.
Beware! This place is tired and very run down. There is a very strong odour (of sewage) that permeates the park on occasion. The facilities smell and the sites are totally uncared for. The swimming pool is closed for good reason - it is almost black on the bottom and surrounds are sprouting weeds everywhere. Bit of a cheek charging $39 per night.
Unfortunately this caravan park is one reason to make even the most relaxed Grey Nomad decide to free camp. We received a 16% discount due to our Acclaim Card but full fare is $40 a night. Its one of those places with a flash faade and not much else (except its location) to recommend it. Its tired, neglected and generally rundown. The amenities are old but clean but the rest of the place needs to be tidied. We had trouble getting set up because of the heights of the road and site requiring much tooing and froing to unhitch. Even the name is a joke, Swan Valley Tourist Park. Its full of permanents none of whom seem in the least interested in keeping their sites clean. Shame really this place could be very smart but at the price its by far the worst value for money park I have ever been in. One other minor omission from their Google blurb is that its also conveniently located under the Perth International Air Port flight path.
We have travelled all over Australia and upon arriving at Swan Valley Tourist Park we were very disappointed ! Walking into reception, the staff were on the phone with no acknowledgement of my entering, after ending their phone call they looked at me with no apology and asked how they could help ... making me feel like I was such an inconvenience.
We booked in and stayed 5 nights ... The worse 5 nights accommodation since packing up and leaving home 9 months ago ... The bathroom facilities were DISCUSTING !!! I never seen anyone in there cleaning them, and there was no evidence of them being cleaned the whole time we were there. The toilets had toilet paper from one end to the other, the showers were feral and overall the grounds and and whole park looked dated, un maintained and very poorly run !
All in all, my advice to you ... Stay elsewhere !!
