This place is very different to the average Italian restaurant. First, there's a choice of BYO or buying alcoholic drinks at the well-stocked bar on the right as you enter. The food is what I imagine home cooked or country food to be like in Italy...they do not sell boring lasagne for example . The ingredients are top quality, I had barramundi for one of my visits here. I've been with a group of friends, one of whom has serious food intolerances ( eg coeliac disease) and has never had problems here, which means they tell the truth and take care not to use items which she is allergic to. That's a great thing. Also, warm lovely atmosphere inside but also nice to dine outside .
What a fab discovery. My partner and i were searching the web and thought we'd check out a new traditional style Italian. This has had a big makeover. Nice ambiance and really friendly all italian staff. Keen to please. I had the osso buco and the dish was filled with plenty of goodness. Looking forward to taking our friends who are italian origin. i'm sure they will be pretty impressed with the regional style recipes! Yum.
Good food, well priced. Service is random and disorganised. They didn't have enough menus when we went, so found it very amateurish that 1 of us was reading menu, while other person had to wait til another table finished with its menu. They also lost our booking.......if this is only teething problems, the Castlecrag will be lucky to have this local Italian.
