Had my car repaired at Autoco Belconnan recently. Considerably cheaper than a quote I obtained from an "authorised dealer", and they also could get the job done faster than the authorised dealer, who would take a couple more days to book the car in. I am no mechanic so cannot give any sensible comment on their work, but the car is now working, so all good! I would be happy to go back to Autoco.
Have three cars that are regularly serviced there and have never had a problem. The poor reviews are at least 2 years old so maybe whatever problems they had they have rectified. Happy to keep going there and have just made another booking for one of the cars to be serviced.
These guys have been fantastic. I was recommended them by a friend who used to work as an automotive service manager who described them as "not the cheapest, but they are thorough and they do great work". My experiences have confirmed this. They've been honest with me about the work that needs doing always been great to deal with. When shoddy work performed by a previous service center caused major issues just after a service they gave me a free tow and fixed the problem under the warranty of the previous service.
I have an older 4WD and I trust the work these guys do enough to take it up bush and know that nothing is going to go wrong and leave me stranded. No idea why other people here have had bad experiences but I recommend them to everyone.
