Headed back to Auvers to check out the new Autumn Menu! Whilst the crab omelette and Yuzu soy salmon gateau looked awesome, as well as the beef and mushroom gross, we went for Coconut Taro Bircher muesli with poached pear, dried apricot, pearl barley, Goji berries and chia seeds - pretty good value for $14. We also got the eggs nest corn fritters with smashed avo, herb and garlic mushrooms with caramelised pineapple, nori sour cream and an onsen egg with alfalfa and snow pea tendrils. Also couldn’t leave without trying the amazing miss piggy waffles with candied bacon and figs! Awesome! Not only delicious food, but art on a plate!
Came as a guest. When the food and drinks came out,I just thought they get a A+ for presentation. The drinks came out in funky tall glasses and the food looks so bright and vibrant. My Auvers pancakes is so green and yellow I didn't want to eat it at first! It's a very Instagram worthy photo to take! Love those colours,I liked it and couldn't finish it but my missus found it too sweet. The missus corn fritters stack, she found it had too much salt on the avocado but I didn't! I liked the pineapple with it but my misses didn't. They also have postcards and phone covers and other items on sale, you can't call this place boring!
Located on the ground floor of a Rhodes high rise apartment complex, Auvers is a sleek cafe space with interesting beverages like hojicha (roast green tea) and black sesame lattes. The Japanese influence extends to the menu which offers a variety of interesting dishes; I enjoyed the poached yuzu soy salmon with snow pea leaves, heirloom tomatoes and roast sesame dressing, although I could have given the little cubes of matcha jelly a miss as I didn't feel they added anything to the dish. Loved the hojicha latte and will be back to try the sweets.
