Blue Gums Hotel

Big parmigiana both chicken and beef,
Shame the soup was really just whatever they had mixed together.
Dessert was ok though really just cake,
But for $15 I won't complain.
Salad bar had a good range. Service a bit slower than I'd have expected.

This is certainly not what I expected when I drove out here to explore some of the pubs out in the suburbs of Adelaide. It is not your standard suburban pub but rather one that seems to be targeting a younger crowd. While I only walked through the bistro, I did notice that they has some entertainment for the kids, however it was that front bar that caught my attention because it opened out into a beer garden that was set up quiet beautifully. I can't say I was much impressed with the offering that was on tap, but they did have some variety beyond what you would expect from your standard suburban pub, and they did offer a couple of craft beers. While it is a bit far for me to travel more than once, it is certainly a place that I would enjoy having a couple of drinks at on a quiet afternoon.

Visited for the first time since they have completed the renovations of the front bar. A nice improvement. Food is pretty good. Kicked on in the bar afterwards, it was Halloween night. All the staff were dressed up. Good fun. A couple of the bar girls let the whole place down. Rude, uninterested, unprofessional, poor service. One stuffed up my order and tried to charge me for two beers - the one I actually ordered, and the one she poured in error. Other than that, worth a visit.

Booked for 10 for Mothers Day meal was very good however my complaint is my daughter who only eats small amounts ordered a entree size vegetable stack and asked that it come out the same time as the rest of the meals. She was told for that to occur she would have to pay an extra $4.50 !! The result was she ate her meal alone while we waited for our meals to come out.

This was ridiculous and spoiled the whole lunch. Why does it cost $4.50 to bring an entree size portion out with main meals.

Will not be returning to the Blue Gums no matter how nice the food is. Will also be warning others about this

Lovely atmosphere, very accomodating and the meals were scrumptious. Staff were pleasant and were glad to help when asked. The hotel is beautiful inside and we will be visiting again for sure
