After being a loyal customer for many years my husband bought me a $100 gift voucher for my birthday. He hid it in a lunch bag which I promptly threw out. He returned the next day thinking it would be fine as they make a record of each voucher number, but they flatly refused. Even after I explained what I'd done they wouldn't budge. Very mean spirited. This time the cheaper & more customer focused book depository wins.
I can assure you if you lost your other store gift cards they would not replace it, they are to be treated like cash.
