Well, this is place is pretty touristy, but then again you probably would expect that for a place that happens to be located on Degreaves Street. I would probably call it more an Italian style restaurant than a café, though they do have a decent breakfast offering, and the eggs benedict was quite nice. However, you do tend to have to fight the crowds, and it does get somewhat noisy, but that has a lot more to do with the location than anything else. Personally, I tend to prefer the quieter places.
Located in the trendy lane ways of Melbourne, a great place to grab a coffee and people watch. The coffees are great and served in a timely manner. There is a good range of food items to choose from and the café does cater for gluten intolerant diets. We had breakfast, I had the eggs benedict which were ok, my friend had the big breakfast which was also ok, but not memorable.
this hidden away little cafe is a brilliant little pizza bar! so if your in melbourne for a visit and you are catching public transport in and out of the city - this is NOT FAR!! it is down the side streets and approx 4minutes walk from the train station.
the pizza was amazeballs, and certainly was cooked fresh - then and there!
although there was some confusion with the wait staff when taking our orders. they didnt understand us well enough when we ordered a pizza and a bottle of wine. and they bought us two galsses of wine. when they bought them out we did ask "where is the rest" and they didnt know what was going on. we explained that we were after the bottle not just a glass each. they were further confused and wondered off. They did eventually return and asked if we wanted a bottle of wine, to which we had declined by then.
Pizza was lovely! i would love to go back for another some day soon
