Chalk Hotel
Despite having only been established in the mid noughties, the Chalk Hotel in Woolloongabba has developed itself a reputation as a modern drinking and dining establishment. There are two bars on site including the Stinks Wine Bar which serves a range of alcoholic beverages and the Juice Bar for those who want a simple, aromatic coffee or healthy juice. With the restaurant, the menu veers away from traditional pub fare and instead serves Modern Australian cuisine that is fresh, flavoursome and well-presented.

I always have a great time at Chalk Hotel. It seems like they have something for everyone. Good food downstairs in the restaurant and then the bar snacks upstairs are great too particularly the pizza. They have good events and entertainment. Can get quite busy on a friday and sat nights.
This was a pretty cool pub and it looks like it has undergone some recent renovations. From the outside you can see them prominently display themselves as being the pub for the Brisbane Lions, and no doubt this place becomes packed full of fans before, and after, a game. I decided to step in here early to avoid to after game crush, though discovered later that is does close reasonably early. However they were cooking up a barbecue for the fans when they all descend upon here to have a beer or three before the game. There were a number of outdoor areas, including a balcony that overlooks the city (great view) and a beer garden out the back. In fact this place is quite spacious, at least when I was there, but I paid this place a visit so as to avoid all of the Brisbane Lions supporters that would no doubt pay this place a visit quite shortly after I left.
