Nice botanical gardens, but I agree with other reviewers that The Mt. Cooth-tha one is more extensive and feels more like a botanical garden and less like a park. I think the nicer bits of this garden are towards the water. It is nice to have this in right in the heart of the city!
This place is actually more like a large park rather than a botanic garden, namely because I couldn't see any name tags in latin at the base of any of the plants. The actual botanic gardens are located elsewhere (Mount Coot-Tha I believe) and they can be a little difficult to reach (you can only get there by bus, or by car). Anyway, that aside, this place isn't bad, if you like parks and gardens, and it is quite a large space to enjoy, especially if you like walking along to river. It is also quite close to the city. However it is not the greatest of gardens that I have visit. Sure, they have a cafe, and there is even a large stage here for concerts, however it seemed to be little more than a fancy park occupying the tip of the peninsula (if that is what you call it) where the city is located. Still, if you want a peaceful place to relax, it's not bad, but not the best place in the city either.
