Corin Forest

Had a very ordinary visit. It seems like this place sprang up from a great idea but has gotten too big and popular too quickly and is now a string of demountable buildings and makeshift toilets that really need a lot of work.
Despite showing up early with pre-booked tickets, it still took us 50 minutes to get to the snow/ice and then it was difficult to actually get the toboggans to slide down the slopes.
The toddler we took wasn't enjoying herself and after half an hour we decided it was all too hard and left.
If you have your own gear, it's likely more fun than trying to faff around and get dressed in the hired (and already wet) gear on offer.
Cafe didn't have anything on offer that we were interested in for lunch and so we went for a drive and found Lanyon Homestead for a meal.
Pretty disappointing and we were hoping it would be the highlight of our weekend.

Things to note - Watch out for sheep, cows, kangaroo's and cyclists as you scream up the hill towards the park. Also be on the look out for a green camry that knows the road way to well and will be travelling twice as fast as you. I think the record from point hut crossing to the gates of the forest is 11 minutes, but you are likely to die if you try to beat this. Make sure when your at the Forest to try to ride sled no 1, 7 or 8, and if you go to the cafe never order a normal milkshake - its worth the extra $1.00 for a thickshake trust me! The deep frier is incredible there so in summer make sure to get some chips or something! Also tickets - A 10 ride pass is the value pass (apart from all dayers). For 9 rides - buy a 10 ride pass, 8 same, 7 same. It's the best value. Never buy a 1 ride because you will not be happy, and unless your gf is under 150cm you can't ride with her but don't worry - put her in the sled behind and she won't slow you down.
