Our aim is to teach traditional martial arts along with traditional valuesThe Craigieburn Martial Arts Centre (Rishinkan Budo) is a purpose built Dojo (martial art centre) with Jujutsu and Judo classes on the ground floor and with Iaido, Jodo, Kendo and Japanese language classes upstairs. The tatami (mats) on the ground floor were specially purchased in Japan from a small family company that has been making tatami for the past 80 years. The tatami is placed upon a specially designed sprung floor to reduce impact. The upstairs wooden floor is made of bamboo. Club weapons located upstairs and downstairs are mounted on hand made weapons racks.
It is our vision to bring a piece of traditional Japan to Craigieburn. The Dojo is fitted out in the style of a traditional Japanese Dojo. There is a small shop with special Japanese items for sale that we have acquired from our years of travel to Japan.
We have brought Martial Art training into the 21st century by making use of video replay so students are able receive visual feedback and analysis on their techniques. Students are encouraged to keep a video log of their ...read more
