Beware the free haircut with colour currently on offer. Because the haircut was "free" it appears it was done by a new apprentice.

Despite several consults where I explained concerns AND after spending close to $500 in colour (which was fine), I was given a haircut with even layers that has left me with literal pieces missing.

While the staff have offered to rectify the cut, the only really option is to do short or go through the process of growing out many, many layers which have left my hair wispy, fluffy and uneven.

The staff are friendly, but honestly would not recommend on the basis of this cut which will be the bane of my existence for the coming year.

I cannot thank this salon enough. I came to Elysium to get my hair and makeup done for my graduation. I don't do this sort of thing often and the guidance provided by Ashleigh and Laura in choices for hair and makeup that complimented me were fantastic. These ladies made me look and feel stunning. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The hair and makeup even lasted through hours of sweating in my graduation gown! I can't wait to come back and just get a regular cut/colour, such a welcoming group of people!

It's a hairdresser on the main street of a city, it's always going to be expensive! On the plus side it's open late, they will give you a glass of bubbles and a mini muffin but you could also probably go to a good hairdresser outside the city, save $50 and get the same service. But the staff are lovely, friendly, they listen to what you want (which is really needed in a hairdresser!!) and do a great job.

This has been my go-to salon since they were a little hole in the wall on George Street. They now have a *beautiful* salon on Adelaide which deserves a 5 star rating on it's own. Besides the great atmosphere, the services are consistently excellent - they are 100% focused on customer service and happiness. The products used are excellent, the stylists are great across the board, and the prices are very reasonable for such a highly regarded salon. My favourite part (besides the coffee and cupcakes at every visit) is the fact that they always remember your name when you walk in and they never push any products! LOVE THEM #reviewtowin

I was blown away by how amazing Elysium was, and by Nikki, my hairdresser.

I've worn my hair as long as possible for my whole life, and was really nervous, but eager to cut it.
I came with a few pictures, but didn't really know WHAT I wanted: which styles would translate well to my type of hair, which hairstyles would require a lot of maintenance, etc. I didn't know any terminology.

Nikki was so patient and nice, she zeroed in on the perfect style, translating my stammered remarks to a cohesive look that's perfect for me.

Overall, Elysium was awesome. Pricy, but pampering, and worth every dime, if you want to treat yourself. And Nikki was a superstar. My hair looks fantastic, and she was so nice, friendly, understanding, and talented!
