Poor customer service in the cafe/ restaurant. They only greeted us when we said g'day to them - and we were there only customers in the place just before lunch time. We ordered, food was ok. My husband tried asking about the facilities of the place since we saw on qld weekender there was canooing available and they agreed. Another couple about the same age as us came in but with a nicer car and they fawned all over them suggesting all sorts of activities available and when it came to pay they punched in the amount of what we owed and then walked away leaving us to finish the transaction/ print receipt. If I wasn't an honest person I wished I had just walked away without paying! Whenever anyone talks of Byfield I always recommend AGAINST this business, this is the first time though that I've given a review on the internet. hey, things could be different now!
I totally disagree with jska. I have been to Ferns on many occasions over the last 13 years. You are always guaranteed a wonderful and entertaining lunch or dinner. I was married there, had staff Xmas parties and have celebrated other family milestones eg. 50th parties with Marto and Genevieve. The beautiful setting, the live entertainment and the friendly atmosphere makes you go back again and again. jska, give Ferns another go, I'm sure you would change your mind.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff at this business even went as far as to call me a liar after they made a mistake and double booked our accommodation. I would have been understanding about the whole situation but never has anyone been so rude to me. Not a good way to conduct business. I'll definitely be telling everyone I know not to go there!
