Fredo Pies

This is a great pie place to stop at driving to Queensland. The pies are nice and heaps of variety like the famous crocodile pie. However, it's a bit runny and too much gravy

Hubby & I stopped at Fredos for a short break to try out the famous little pie roadhouse located at Maclean. Famous for its crocodile pie but they also offer a variety of pies including Emu & Kangaroo for the adventurous or regular favourites such as plain & pepper steak, cheese & bacon & many more. The pies are a little pricey but well worth it for that homemade taste. The staff are very friendly and are happy to have a chat. There is plenty of seating area to chill out & rest from driving, toilets available & a photo opportunity with the big, red gorilla mascot (still working out the connection lol ;) next time you decide to road trip to the Gold Coast definitely stop by.

Great pies - and the ultimate Aussie Roadhouse! Needs more seating... at least in holiday season... but Fredo's is becoming a regular pitstop on Northern roadtrips! Give them a crack - theres a huge range of fresh pies and the few I've tried have all been up there.

Stopped here on the way between sydney and Brisbane. Pie was below average for the very above average prices. My "braised steak and onion" contained no onion to speak of, and the "braised steak" was little more than a couple of spoonfuls of mince floating in a thick gravy. Beats me why everybody raves about this place? My traveling partners' pies got much the same verdict. All style, very little substance. Very disappointed.

Absolutely the best pies you will have. They have a great selection of pies and it is a must stop place. This has been my morning tea, lunch, snack and dinner for many years on the road. Just got to stop and have one.
