I took a birthday cake to have with our meal also my own paperplates when I paid the bill they charged me $10 for taking the cake I was abit cross as I have never been charged before anywhere for taking a cake to have, the last time we went there they didn't even had a sweets menu and the waitress said it was okay to have it?? I also think that you have changed chef's meal was just okay
I am now i guess what they class as a local at this little gem, only because its the only decent place to go this side East of Perth. When we first started going to this place last year the food was pretty ordinary but in the past 12 or so months they have turned it around in a big way. The Black Angus steaks are always spot-on and good value for money and the woodfired gourmet pizzas are sublime (they would give little ceasars a run for their money). The setup is what you would call very casual & no-thrills dining, what you would expect in local tavern, it's a great place to take the family. The decor is very contempory and clean, and the locals seem friendly enough (lots of familys) with no comparison to the previous notorious hotel that once stood. They have a great range of beers on tap at reasonable prices, the bar has big plasmas showing sports and a self serve TAB. Great food, good service and cold beer what more could you ask for?

I did question it but they assured me it was a new batch of olive oil.
The second visit was today. We booked last week and prepaid for Melbourne cup lunch. Arrived about 11.30, told to go out and find out seat by the staff member as they were all labelled. We did, but no available seats. Came back and saw the staff member who then went out looking. they ended up putting us on a ...read more
