I would recommend this cinema, great alternative to the Event Cinema in Westfield. It is a bit cheaper and refreshingly not a national chain! They screen a more limited selection of movies, but still a good range (any they dont offer certainly will be available in Events Westfield). Friendly service and a good snack bar. Cinemas are a bit smaller than usual.
I LOVE this cinema. I've been going there as my cinema of choice for about 30 years. It's what a cinema should be like - it has a beautiful, old-world art deco feel, old movie posters everywhere, a well stocked candy bar, friendly staff, and unlike the large chains the cinema doesn't look like a gigantic spaceport. Its a bit smaller, more intimate cinema but with audio-visual equipment that rivals the bigger cinemas. And the prices are far lower than the big cinemas, which makes movie-going actually affordable when you have a large family. They run all the blockbusters, and also have occasional cult movie nights, showing old retro movies, sci-fi classics, movie marathons, etc. Right opposite Hornsby Station it's an easy trip from pretty much anywhere in Sydney or the Central Coast, and there's a lot of nice, late-opening cafes, restaurants and pubs in the area.
