When I was here last I noticed that they didn’t open until late in the afternoon, and since I was determined to come here and have a drink, I went off and did some other things before coming back. Well, that was certainly a worthwhile endeavour because while they were still in the process of refurbishing, there was enough here for me to sit down with a nice beer, and being quiet was also a bonus. There is a beer garden, or more precisely and outdoor deck, out the back, and the tap beers included a number of craft beers, a number of then not of the standard fare, which is always a huge thing for me. So, yes, this pub is pretty cool and certainly worth checking out.
This place keeps getting better and better. There's a sports bar with pool tables n darts, a lounge with board games, trivia on a Wednesday night, a beer garden and a dining area. The new owner seems to have spruced the place up into a funky Melbourne local. Great food, awesome specials.
I heard that this place has really highly rated burgers and had to visit - I was very impressed especially with the aoli sauce that comes with the chips. The atmosphere here is relaxed and inviting and they have a decent selection of beers on the tap. The pinot grigio here is also very tasty.
