The cinema is amazing, they always put thier visitors as a high priority and the cinema crew and friendly and welcoming, love being greeted by them. Excellent screens, huge xs screen, Great sound, biggest cinema I have ever seen. Ben and Jerrys store in foyer is a great treat!
When compared to reading Cinemas or Event cinemas Hoyts Blacktown is stuck in the eighties. The automated kiosks wont read the printed bar codes, the quees can be long if you have not pre booked and we experienced an angry customer who jumped in the express prepaid line out of pure frustration. The seats are OK, but as usual someone was sitting in our allocated seats. I can't blame them though as the row lighting is insufficient and there isnt lighting on the seat numbers. Makes for wonderful conversation with people you dont know.
Avoid watching movies at Hoyts Blacktown for the following reasons:
-arrogant night duty manager
-incompetent night duty manager
-very poor customer service even if they are at fault
-staff are not very well trained about the services or movies they are showing - ie. misleading information
-untidy (very sticky floor)
Hoyts Blacktown is slowly sliding southwards. Shame, really, when it used to be our fave place to visit the big-screen. What frustrates me is pre-purchasing my ticket online and then having to wait in the ticket-queue to buy popcorn or drinks. However the staff are prompt and friendly and the cinema is clean overall. Just remember to get your parking ticket validated on your way out or you're looking at an extra $6 on top of your already-pricey evening out!
