Koala Conservation Centre
1810 Phillip Island Rd
Rhyll, VIC, 3923
During my last visit to Melbourne we took our time to travel down to Phillip Island and see more than just penguins. With our three-park pass we also got the chance to visit the Koala Conservation Centre located on the same island.
When we entered the place, we were very excited to see heaps of koalas on the trees, but to our dismay, we could only spot a few koalas at that time, maybe less than 10, despite the guide mentioning more than that.
Other than the koalas and the trees, there is basically nothing else to see, with the exception of a small wetlands on a distance where we managed to spot a wallaby and some birds.
One thing that is quite disappointing on behalf of the koalas is that the racing circuit is not far away and you can clearly hear the cars racing, and the sound really takes away the natural elements of the park.
