This unpretentious Chilean cafe has the best empanadas I have had in Australia since moving here from Chile 20 years ago! Delicious and great value as they are made in-house.The service is delightful and the coffee is well made and delicious. They have a musician on Sundays which makes for a lively afternoon of eating simple homemade style food and music. I highly recommend them! My only complaint, however, is that they are only open two days a week (Sat & Sun).

Otherwise I think that La Chilena ticks all the boxes!

This warm and friendly "Hole-in-the-wall" family cafe makes the best empanadas! I had eaten there when they were at Tamborine Mtn and was very sad when they closed. When I found them on Facebook and saw that they had re-opened @ Hope Island I was very excited to have an empanada again! The Chilean sandwiches are amazing, they bake there own bread on site and the meat is very lean and tender. I recommend the Chaccarero YUM! The coffee is delicious, especially when had with a caramel chilenitto biscuit... I like that they have a chilean musician on Sundays also, adds to the authentic chilean atmosphere.
