Great food and an ever-changing menu (good thing if you love variety, though sad when a favourite disappears), and great ambience (can be alfresco in the summer months and closed in during gthe colder times). They're open late (which is reasonably rare up here). I've had some of the best fresh food in the mountains from here, from a delicious barramundi with ratatouille, to a truly tasty spag bol, to the best Eton mess I've ever eaten (and I've eaten it in Eton). :)
We picked up a coffee to go on our way out of Leura and back to the city. Would havce loved to try their food here as the menu had some good choices and the outdoor space looked like a nice place to chill out and chat but we had to get back to the city to catch our flights. The coffee from here that I had though was great, no bitter burnt taste - a latte made to perfection.
A go to for me and my family when we visit the Blue Mountains- upbeat, quirky atmosphere with strong "garage" themes- ie car exhausts on display via a collection hung in the corner. This transports you to a trendy Melbourne cafe... not a restaurant in the mountains! Great food & wine selection- fresh produce, but a little low on the variety of protein it offers- vego or other- but delicious non the less. Also- the bathrooms are clean, well lighted and stocked.. the whole experience is top notch, not an experienced to be rushed.
The best cocktail I've ever had in my life. This was the cocktail to beat all others. I have to admit, we went there a few years ago now but every cocktail I have had since, I always use the cocktail from the Garage as the one to beat. No other cocktail has ever come close. In fact, I think it's time to go back for another cocktail again (with dinner on the side) I think it was a martini and it blew my socks off
I've been looking forward to coming to Leura Garage for some time now and I was not disappointed - the food was superb and the service was top notch. We had the smoked trout pizza which was lovely - the trout was tender and not too heavily smoked. The squash and zuccini dish was also very tasty. Well worth a visit but very busy so make sure you call ahead to go on their waitlist. They are a bit pricey but if its a treat you're after this is the place!
