Lincolnshire Arms Hotel
Lincolnshire Arms Hotel is better known as the “Linc”. It is an easy going place that offers a pub, bistro style dining, sports bar and entertainment, live music, pool tables, and areas such as their beer garden to relax. The interiors have been recently renovated with a trendier touch whilst keeping the traditional pub style warmth. Their bistro area offers traditional hearty Western style meals at reasonable prices with seafood, pasta, risotto, vegetarian, and even a children’s menu. The Linc caters for functions, so be sure to call them and check out their entertainment listing.
Staff are friendly, albeit slow to move, slow to serve at least in the meals area. The bar is different. The area is neat and clean, having been renovated relatively recently. There are good sized TVs to watch sports and an adjoining TAB to bet, or the gaming area in the rear. But outside that area is the only area to eat outdoors and it is NOT for families or for couples. Food was very average, with my pamigianna a bit on the tough side
I found this pub when I was on my way to an engagement party one Saturday, though because I had to go to the party I couldn't suddenly change my plans and go inside. Mind you, when I left to go home a couple of friends asked me if I wanted a lift, to which I politely declined explaining that there was a pub that I discovered that I hadn't had a beer in as yet being this pub.
Well, there isn't all that much that really stood out about this pub though it is what you would expect from a suburban pub. There was a TAB, pokies, and a restaurant, as well as an outdoor area out the back, which was full of smokers (which doesn't make it a really enjoyable experience if you are not a smoker, and I would hesitate to call it a beer garden). The pub itself wasn't bad, but it is certainly not one that I would travel all the way out to Essendon just to visit.
After parking our vehicle and entering via the back door labeled "bistro", my family was immediately set on for being in an over 18 gambling area. There was no semblance of manners or culture in the barely 18 year old bully (staff), shouting at my wife and kids. I should have known immediately that this was not the place for a nice pub meal at a family pub.
We were then ushered through to the dinning room by a more experienced member of staff, who apologized for our treatment thus far. After I enquired if we needed a booking, they too turned on us. I don't understand why. We left ...read more
I ordered the roast of the day and when part of my meal didn't arrive I was told in an abrupt satff "that's all your getting". The staff in the restaurant didn't want to be there and guests where made to feel like we should hurry up and don't ask questions..The food was over priced for what you got with little flavour. I won't be going back and neither will my friends.
