Used to eat there often, food was always good, things have changed, new kitchen staff, new menu and a management with a bad attitude. Both our meals were overcooked. Partner's fish was crumbed and overcooked, battered fish no longer on the menu. The chicken on the chicken burger was not succulent chicken, just an overcooked burnt piece of cheap chicken shnitzel. Took it back and ordered the chicken taco's instead. The same version of chicken came out, little pieces on skewers, crumbed, dried and burnt. Could not eat it, took it back and asked for a refund because I just wanted to go home. Management refused, saying there was nothing wrong with my meal, though did concede burger chicken was burnt. When I mentioned I would contact the owner during the week they aggressively handed the money back. As locals we will not be back and certainly will no longer recommend it to our visitors. Very disappointing.
Heard a lot about this little place called "Little Beans". Had great expectations for it, however, it did not live up to its reputation at all. I went for dinner with a large group and the offering for the evening meals were very limited and very exy for what you got on your plate. I ordered the Coconut Prawns with Laksa sauce, expecting a lovely pan fried prawn with a small side of rice, rich laksa sauce and maybe something else. What I got was a plate full from corner to corner of rice that had a taste of coconut with the rice being about an inch thick on the plate that I could not finish. The prawns were crumbed and deep fried on sticks (I got 9 pieces) which were obviously frozen and no Laksa sauce anywhere on the plate that I could see. That was it for my $17.90. Total rip off. I can cook much better at home, far healthier and tastier. The other huge draw back of this place is that it actually is a massive haunt of the young and hip crowd of this area and they flock to this ...read more
Crumbed and overcooked is the new norm at Little Beans. Steak Sandwiches off the menu .The coconut prawns are crumbed, the chicken burgers are crumbed, the chicken for the taco's is crumbed...the prawns for the prawn taco's probably crumbed.....the Japanese Schnitzel is definitely crumbed, the fish is crumbed, battered no longer on the menu.Overcooked and so done !
Friendly service. Lamb and vegetable soup was very salty and only contained four small piecesof lamb and one of those was gristle. Left half of it. Ordered two of the fish and chips....one grilled, one crumbed. There were two evenly sized pieces of crumbed fish, salad and chips. The other serve had only one piece of grilled fish that was the same size as one of the portions of crumbed fish. It was as though they had forgotton to plate the second piece. Fish was nice although the grilled was a little over cooked. Salad was boring and dry...no dressing. Chips were great. Also ordered steak sadwich which came with salad. Steak was good and salad had dressing so obvious lack of consistency in plating up.
