We ate here on Sunday night and were able to call up earlier that afternoon and book a table for 2 for 7pm. The service was very warm and friendly. The whole place has a warm earthy glow to it with great ceiling decorations.
We started with edamame, which have a garlic, salt and black pepper seasoning - delicious!
We also tried the salt & pepper squid and the duck pancakes, which weren't as good.
The duck pancakes were nice, but probably not worth over $20 for 4 pancakes.
The squid came with an odd vinaigrette that didn't suit. There was no explanation, but the serving had random balls that we thought may have been eggplant. Very odd....
Hilariously written menu though, worth going for alone!
I've been twice, about two years ago and again recently. The food is spectacular - asian tapas. The sizzling beef, dumplings and soft shell crab are all winners. I loved the attitude of the lady in charge, she told me I should not have what I wanted but should choose something else (she was right) but I can see some people being put off by how direct she was. No bookings, put your name down, have a beer across the road and they give you a call. Really pricey but nice for a treat.
