Dirty, uncomfortable, dated accommodation with the most shockingly rude staff I have ever encountered, from the rude staff on the reception desk to another rude staff who delivered our unrequested wake-up call. The most memorable features of the Motel Harbour Royal were the myriad of passive aggressive notices plastered around the room and grounds and the ridiculous extra charges tacked onto our bill upon checkout. Next time Im in town I think I might find better hospitality if I pitch a tent in the Coles carpark.
I stayed at the Harbour Royal Motel. I would like to commend the managers on the way they handled these people. They kept everyone awake from 3am onwards. The manager knocked on their door at 8.30am & asked them to leave only to be verbally attacked I( have no idea how many people were in this room but there was a lot.) What gives you the right to behave this way
This review is disappointing but hardly surprising. These people booked for 2 people and had 5 in the room and kept the other guests awake with their until 5am.The so called unrequested wake up call was to ask them who played at a local Hotel to leave the premises, management was verbally attacked for dare waking them well no one asked you for a wake up call at 3am . The only charges tacked on to their account was for extra people and mini bar. It does not surprise me they feel they do not have to pay as they feel they are special.
The state they left the room in was disgusting so after witnessing them.
We have no problem with fair criticisim if warranted and we will endeavour to improve our services if needed but these were all untruths from some very ordinary people.
I very much doubt that you were a guest on the night in question, but I do respect your right to defend your business. We had a room booked for four people. In addition to the four people staying in our room, two people who were staying in the four-person room next door came to visit (one of them fell asleep in our room). At the time we believed that the level of noise we were making was acceptable: there was no music playing and we were speaking at a level we thought to be reasonable. Had we been made aware at the time that we were making too much noise we would have been happy to lower our voices further. However, it wasn't until 8 o'clock the next morning (when we were making absolutely no noise), when we were startled awake by a man banging on our door and windows threatening us, that we became aware of the fact that our conversation had disturbed other guests sleep.
The situation was handled incredibly badly by management, who would have served their guests (ourselves and others) better by politely telling us to keep it down at the relevant time, rather than threatening us the next morning. The room was not in a much worse state than when we checked in, other than the beds needing to be made and the bin emptied.
if you check your confirmation the room was booked for 2 people not 4.The level of noise may have been reasonable to you but i can assure you it wasnt to other guests. You were asked to quieten down at 4am but instead of being happy to tone it down we recieved another complaint at 4.45.Instead of causing a scene with anebriated guests at this time we knocked your door at 8.30am and asked you to leave,as for the window being banged on, its about 8 feet off the ground so cmon. Its seems you think its fine for you to keep guests awake all night but how dare anyone wake you. A total lack of respect to other guests was shown by yourself and is still being shown, this was evident with the comment are we running a retirement village. The following morning reception recieved complaint after complaint from guests checking out.It seems according to you everyone at the Motel this night was wrong bar you.
I was in an accident and would not help me out. I had to pay for the room despite having no way of getting there. So now, having to pay for the car, and medical bills, now have to pay for a room that I did not get to use.
I guess this comment came from a cancellation we had last week at no stage did this person contact us to explain his circumstances. This person booked through a booking agency not direct with us.
I feel it is a low act to make this review without talking to us first. If this person reads this he is more than welcome to ring and discuss this matter.
Although the outcome may not change due to the way he handled it.
