A cut above your everyday country town hotel. This pub/restaurant was recommended to us by the proprietors of the resort we were staying at nearby. One of three or four pubs within a block of each other on the main drag of tiny Alexandra, from the outside the Mount Pleasant Hotel looks pretty much like the others. But inside, it's just been thoughtfully renovated and features a bright, cheery and comfortably contemporary dining room, with much-better-than-common-pub food, at very reasonable prices. I had a nicely prepared and very tasty fish special. The steaks looked marvelous. The roast special of the day was a big hit, and quite a bargain too. And though I wasn't the one buying the wine (it was my birthday after all), I'm told that the wine list was very good as well, with a nice range of reasonably priced choices.
