Located on Piper Street, the food here transports you to the Middle East. The service by our waitress was fantastic. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, she was more than hospitable and made sure we were taken care of.
The menu was varied and very interesting. A complimentary bread basket was brought out and it was lovely. We started off with the Honey Glazed Milawa Duck Breast. It was cooked wonderfully and was nice and pink. Fesanjan sauce had a rich flavour and absolutely delicious. The walnuts had a nice crunch and added some sweetness. ...read more
I have to admit that I came here at completely the wrong time to grab a quiet cup of coffee with my friends, namely because the friend's I came with exceeded about twenty in number. This meant that the poor staff were literally run off their feet (and no doubt some of the orders ended up getting lost). Unfortunately mine was one of them, but they were kind and gracious enough, when they realised their mistake, to give me a take-away coffee free of charge. Mind you, despite the crowd descending upon this place there was ample room for all of us, plus a few more, to sit and spend a couple of hours. Their coffee wasn't bad as well, and they also had some pretty nice dip. I would certainly recommend coming back to this place, though not when you are with thirty odd friends.
A family trip away i googled restaurants to eat in Kyneton and Mr Carsisi came up. I guess eating middle eastern food every now and then for my family is good. So we called to make a booking for lunch. A mixture a marinated meat and tasty salad was enough to feed a hungry family of 6. Ordering 2 servings of the same dish seem plenty, as the portion size was quite big. The meats were juicy and delicious. Eating with the salad helped with adding a tinge of sour to the meat. The sauces also helped with the meat to give it a slightly tinge of different flavour as eating meat alone can get a big tough without breaking it down. Definitely require a coke or a gassy drink. Quite filling and heavy so no bread is required. Definitely worth a try if ever in Kyneton the flavours are really tasty.
I was recommended to come here by a foodie friend of mine. I came on the Sunday and it was the first day of their new middle eastern/turkish inspired menu. I was impressed with everything we ordered. The presentation of the food was devine and I really enjoyed the relaxing, ambient dining experience in the outdoor area. They even had blankets for if you get cold. The croquettes and hoummus were very memorable. Will definitely be coming back here.
