During a visit to Bendigo I passed by Myer and I went to check the shop. I usually go to the Mayer in Melbourne CBD and the one in Bendigo is a lot smaller to the ones in Melbourne city and shopping centers. Most of the items are there, but the range is a lot smaller. If you are just visiting the city, it's probably not the best place to go shopping, as it's the same you get in any of the bigger cities, same price range. I would probably go to the smaller shops that you can find nearby. Not even the building looks nice. It looks like it's any other cheap department store from outside. At least they could spend some money to make the building a bit nicer and make it fit better in the nice area in where it's located.
I was utterly disgusted with Myer Bendigo. I travelled a long distance to town to buy a Clinique cream that I use, only to find just one sale staff in the whole cosmetics department. After waiting for a while, I went over and asked the staff to serve me at the Clinique counter. When I questioned whether the Clinique staff was on a break, I was told me no, staff was on a honeymoon for 2 weeks!! After we both searched for the product we discovered there was none in stock, nor was the free gift offer that I saw on the Clinique Website. Staff did not apologize, and just suggested another product, which I did not want. I walked out in disbelief. Apparently they do not replace staff who are on leave. I will never shop at a Myer store again, and now buy my Clinique products on-line where the service is excellent
This is the first Myer store in Melbourne, and it still has some of the old fashioned touches. It's not very big, but a nice quaint place to look around.
Myer, Bendigo was the first Myer store in Melbourne? WOW! I didn't know Bendigo was in Melbourne!
