I started using this vet after stumbling across a post relating to small animals at a time when I really needed a second opinion on the treatment of my guinea pigs. I wish I'd discovered them way earlier. I can only speak with respect to Michelle, the vet who treated my guinea pigs, but she clearly has the edge on the other vets in the area when it comes to small animal knowledge and treatment. Recently we had to make the heart rending decision to put a much loved guinea pig to sleep - Michelle (and staff, but we dealt mainly with Michelle) could not have been more compassionate. Despite a crowded waiting room, at no point did she rush us to say our goodbyes, letting us take him to a park for last cuddles, and then letting me hold him right til the end. Michelle, if you ever read this, I was too distressed at the time and still won't risk saying it in person in case I start up again, but thank you for your compassion ('not just a guinea pig'). After writing a negative review on this veternary hospital over 1 year ago . I wish I could retract it!
Last Monday our world was sent into turmoil after our Two & half year old American Staffy "Bentley " was bitten by a Death Adda at Kurrajong. As my son had taken him there over the Christmas break and I was fairly condident they should still be open ,I called them close to closing time and we rushed him down .From the moment we arrived with our boy the staff ,Vet Michelle and nurses Alex and April were simply outstanding .They all swang into action doing everything they could possibly do to try and save our boys life . Unfortunately the outcome was the most tragic as due to the short shelf life and cost of the anti venom they do not keep it on hand ,Most disturbingly and sadly though neither does our local Hawkesbury Hospital. We cant thank Michelle and both April and Alex enough ,They were extremly ...read more
Im very confused with the recent experience I had at North Richmond Vet .I took my ailing elderly cat there recently to be euthanised .The nurse who attended me seemed far more interested in being on the phone /Facebook to be in any hurry to acknowledge me . Nurse eventually did ,took my details but showed know real caring for the situation but I let it go and took a seat . The vet I saw however was excellent , was caring and understanding and I was more than satisfied with seeing the vet and the service. After doing the dreaded dead and carefully wrapping my cat and placing him back in his carrier I then went to pay the same nurse at the front counter. Again no acknowledgement, too busy with texting and Facebook again. I would have fully understood if what nurse was doing was work related and nurse had just acknowledged I was standing there. It took the daughter of the vet I saw also sitting there in school uniform to address the fact that nurse was ...read more
