Northern Soul has changed owners and is AMAZING!
It's a Tibetan cafe with all the right ingredients of good food, friendly people and great atmosphere. It's also open on Fri and Sat for Tibetan dinners.
Excellent
Went there with a group of parents as part of orientation for my son's school. As far as I knew we were all ordering separately. I knew the cafe was cash only, but I only had a $50 with me. There was no one able to change it on my table. The cafe refused to take my payment on the basis that they only "went to the bank once a week". I asked - what would have happened if I had just come by myself, they would have had to take my payment then! As they did not take credit card this seemed like a poor excuse and bad organisation on their part. They made me walk a block to 7 eleven where I had to spend money in order to buy change so that I could pay them. I was actually quite ill at the time. I have worked in hospitality for 10 years and never have I experienced such poor service. Thankfully there are a lot of other good cafes in the area I can give my custom to.
Disappointingly average. Was hoping to try the field mushrooms with cheesy polenta (just without the poached egg). I was advised that no menu alterations are possible though. So I went for the vegetable pide... very bland. My partner's pancakes were a little over cooked. Coffee just ok. Wouldn't bother going back.
