Nasty frozen chips, tiny , thinly cut fish portions, so called family pack, the fish was at least nice. Value for money, zero, speed of service excellent . Would I go back? No way! I was charged $39 for enough food to fill 4 toddlers, or a adult family of 2 , no kids!
At my local place I get twice as much fish, quality chips and a large fresh salad for $25.
Both times I have had the (dis)pleasure of dining here, were on a Monday. For some reason on Monday almost all restaurants are closed in Wynnum. The first time I was expecting really good seafood, since the Pelicans nest is probably the most expensive seafood on the esplanade. So I ordered a seafood basket and a few pieces of cod.
The staff who were snarling and scowling at the fact they had to stop talking and serve a customer. I. Upon entering the premises this afternoon, we were the only customers inside the shop and more than 5 employees walked past us behind the counter, only to be completely ignored for over 5 minutes. Finally, a rude employee with a bad attitude took our order. Leftover food surrounded us on vacated tables outside. An employee finally decided it was then time to clean up. The service, food and outdoor eating environment were below standard, especially for the prices charged. First impressions are lasting ones in the business world. We will never return again.
