We have been going to this fish and chip shop for over 10 years. We always get the pensioners special, which features a large piece of fish and plenty of chips. The new management give you a piece of fish about 3"x 3"and a tiny serve of chips. Quite insulting really, the fish should be the same size as the general public get but at a discount price because we are pensioners. We won't be going back again, will look for somewhere else.
I am truly amazed at this comment! I also have been going to this shop for well in excess of 10 years and there have been times when the fish has been small but more often than not it is adequate.
The service is exceptional, food is cooked beautifully and for $6.50 I think as a pensioner I am getting a great deal. It would no doubt cost the shop more than that to cook it.
Seems people just want everything for nothing these days....
We just got back from the UK where we were told had to try "real" fish & chips (fish suppers). Sadly, it was just one expensive disappointment after another all around the UK.
Being new to Shoalwater we lobbed up here after our trip - and without doubt we enjoyed the very best fish & chips we have EVER had ANYWHERE. Lovely crispy chips, deliciously battered fish, perfectly cooked dim sims - all wrapped up the traditional way (can't stand those polystyrene sweat boxes).
What a thrill to have found this place and we will definitely be regular local customers.
Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed.
Best fish and chips in all of rockingham, have been going to this fish and chip shop for years and although its changed hands the food is still great. Staff are friendly and I will keep going to this awesom fish and chip shop, slightly shocked at the below rating as i was there last night food was great and so was the poor young lady working the shift in her own, thanks for a local awesom fish and chip shop.
HORRIBLE!!! grumpy, rude staff behind counter was swearing on phone when we arrive (should of been warning sign)... $20.50 for horrible greasy small serve of fish and chips for 2!!!!! fish and scallop fall apart, batter was off crabstick, chips looked old... took it straight back for refund... SO MANY BETTER F&C PLACES . DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
I totally agree ben. The new owner is so rude. I have been going there for as long as I can remember and getting big orders for family gatherings and the owners have always been so friendly and made the best fish and chips in the Rockingham area. Not any more, he doesn't want customers, so I definitely wouldn't waste my money and time on him.
