South West Adventure Base

South West Adventure Base provides backpacker accommodation in Fitzgerald, near Maydena in Tasmania’s south. The Base is a restored house with two double rooms and two bunk rooms. The Base is surrounded by Mount Field National Park and the Styx Valley.The Base has two standard rooms with queen-sized beds and two bunk rooms with a total of six bunks. All beds include linen, duvets and towels. The standard rooms come with electric blankets and heating. The bunk rooms have hot water bottles and heating. Gas showers and cooking facilities are provided and a shared lounge and sitting room. Covered and open outdoor areas are available with mountain and forest vistas.The base is a short drive from Russell Falls and Mount Field National Park, which offers walks suitable for families and novices. It is a twenty minute drive to the Styx Valley, which is home to the tallest hardwood trees in the world. The South West National Park is a thirty minute drive away, displaying some of the best scenery in Tasmania.
