As a parent I'd avoid seeing Dr Valerie Tan if you want to have peace of mind regarding your child's health (and yours for that matters). After waiting for an hour, her first comment after seeing my daughter was: "uuhh that doesn't look good". It could be this, it could be that. Too early to tell. Let's give her antibiotics thinking worst case scenario. No proper diagnosis. No answers. Just guessing. Five minutes is all it took. Still had to pay full fee and leave there with no answers. What a waste of time and money. I took my daughter to the hospital and they knew exactly what she had. Straight away. When I asked about this Dr's other "theory" they said: "that's not possible as if it was an allergy it would have been in both eyes".
What else can I say? Are you willing to guess with your loved one health?

Going to write a new review because most professional companies don’t lie in responses.
I never said one rude thing to the doctor, and I will swear on my life. To say that I was “abusive” is absolutely ridiculous, I’m 22 and wanted some antidepressants I’ve taken for 5 years. After being refused I said I would go to another doctor and she said “so go then” in the most “professional” way and I left. No insults, no yelling, no physical harm, just me leaving midway through an appointment which if you could explain to me what is abusive about this I’d be more than willing to listen.
It is quite pathetic that after I left a one star with no description after being refused, you resort to lying about me being abusive. Wish the whole ordeal was recorded so I could show everyone how ridiculous that statement ...read more

The best doctor I have ever seen. Thorough and caring. He actually talked to me not to his computer!! I highly recommend Southport Central Medical Centre
