100% good beer and great people....problem is they don't have aircon due to being located inside a heritage listed building so in summer its Bl**dy hot...this leads to drinking large amounts of beer and severe drunkenness!
Gareth Andrews and his team are also the first to create a Whisky in South Australia. until this is released (Approx 2017-18) they are selling Moon-Shine! its a must try!
Located in an historic railway goods shed overlooking the River Murray at the River Port of Goolwa wharf, is Goolwa's very own micro brewery. It's a must each visit to enjoy a round of their hand crafted beers inside the iconic warehouse, or outside on the decking under its shady umbrellas.
I prefer the Steam Ale made in the tradition of an American classic. It's a well-balanced beer, just perfect for drinking all year round. But on a hot Goolwa day I like the a big tasty, heavily hopped, malty flavour of their India Pale Ale. During the winter however it's hard to pass on the Southerly Buster, a classic British style rich dark ale or a classic Steam Exchange Stout, both just right as a winter warmer to savour. The only problem with this place is it closes at 5.00 pm most days; but then they do have takeaway!!
