We installed the double glazing windows from Stopnoise over a year ago, and every time the temperature gets hot, the windows emits an overbearing toxic smelling plastic odour. We only installed the windows in one of the rooms. We weren't sure what it was initially. During a recent hot spell, we decided to get to the bottom of it and went to all the other rooms to compare if we could smell the same odour. We pinpointed the problem to be the double glazing windows.
Stopnoise had initially agreed to come out and have a look at the problem. 1 day before they were schedule to come out, Ron Adams - director of Stopnoise got in contact with me. Can't say what their work standards are like but so called customer service is the worst I've experienced. Made an appointment for a quote, got a text message reminding me of that appointment the day before and then they don't bother turning up! I waited an hour, called the company to find out what was going on but just got a lady answering who could take "messages only" she was their answering service - sorry but doesn't seem they are in office very often! I then finally made contact with them through Facebook site, they deleted my complaint of course but sent me a message "sorry we forgot, will ring you tomorrow" - having had this I told them not to bother, can't say I'd be too confident that their work will be up to scratch. I see another person has had this problem so all I can say is "buyers beware" you'll get a time but don't be surprised if they don't bother turning up and no doubt if I hadn't chased them up I wouldn't have even got a "half hearted" ...read more
