Talay Thai

Fantastic feed, great service, have been eating here for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. Now it is my kids who suggest we go here for dinner. Congratulationd to Bruce & Penny for always making us feel so welcome. Highly recomended

Talay Thai is fantastic! Since moving to the area, i have been going to the restaurant for well over a year. Firstly, the food is sensational. Secondly, the staff are friendly and the service is very personal. The first time i visited i ordered takeaway and from then on, i have been on a first name basis with the owner. I challenge any restaurant out there to have the same friendly personal service backed by exceptional food that is Talay Thai. I have tried most of the menu and recommend the Red Chicken Curry and the Sizzling Seafood stir fry. They are delicious. Like any venue with good food, there can be a downside and in saying the above, the place can get fairly busy. However, after reading some of the comments, it is a rare occasion that food takes longer than 20minutes to come out. If it happens to you, all I can say is that it is worth the wait. It's definitely a first world issue if you have to wait for food.

We love it! Nice to escape with great music and atmosphere. The food is cooked fresh and the best. Can get busy so be patient if dining in. Its a nice dining experience ...we enjoyed it immensely.

Im a local resident, and Talai Thai scores 5 stars in my book, the restaurant is well-located, off street parking is available, the staff are courteous and efficient (all female kitchen and table staff - the girls are Thai, genteel and friendly which an inherent characteristic of Thai culture) and the food is EXCELLENT always fresh cooked to order by the Thai staff, the head chef is exceptional and her curries ,sauces and especially the sizzling pan cooked dishes are legendary in the Ascot/Hamilton area. The menu is extensive Ive travelled throughout Thailand and other se asian countries and the food at Talai is the equivalent of meals Ive eaten in the Thai homeland, and the meats in particular at Talai are better quality. Service is fast and theres an extensive beer & wines selection to choose from.
Probably the biggest rap I can give Talai is that their Takeaways are as good (meaning excellent) as their Dine-In meals, these are prepared for pick-up ...read more

For the life of me, I don't understand why some people bother to leave their homes. They should either cook for themselves exclusively or move back to Sydney. I've been eating at this restaurant for as long as its been here and I rarely ever use another Thai restaurant. Why?
