First time I’ve gone to this particular Tasman Meats, although I’ve purchased at the Brooklyn location on numerous occasions. Quite a large butchery retailer based out here in Brimbank gardens. I came in specifically to look for the special they had for the lamb leg which was $6.99 kilo. There was just the one left, which was perfect almost was left there just for me to pick up! They have a wide selections of meat and a deli on the side with the guys cutting up and packaging the meat. Friendly service and prompt, not a lot of customer on the day which was great.
Tasman Meats is your one stop shop for your barbecue and entertaining needs. They do a great range of meats - ranging from lamb chops to chicken satay skewers and also gourmet sausages and cured meats. They also have a nice deli section which serves really affordable but delicious olive oils and pasta. The meat is oh so cheap and I always come here for when I have a bbq. I didn't find the lamb chops to be very tender but the lamb cutlets were the complete opposite. Well worth a visit and Tasman Meats is not too far from the city if you go down Ballarat Road.
We wanted to round a decent bbq with friends and family so I thought, let's check out a quality butcher! I gave Tasman meats in Deer Park a visit based on a five star review from another member of truelocal. Upon entry, I was excited by what appeared to be quite a large variety of meats and great prices. I purchased $60 worth of meat. When I arrived home, my father pulled me up to give all the meat a whiff. The smell was unbearable. The meat was off. If you're looking for fresh quality meat, you ain't gettin' it here.
