Teavine House
At Teavine House we specialise in the experience of High Tea. Tea Houses were one of the most important venues for socialization for centuries.Teavine House Overview
For centuries, nothing has brought people together like tea - a fact celebrated and perpetuated at the beautiful Teavine House, nestled in Tallebudgera Valley just minutes from the beach. A graceful verandah and soaring beams frame the charming French style interior of this old Queenslander, which echoes with the clinking of china and the hum of patrons chatter as they indulge in high tea, Devonshire tea, patisserie, light lunches and ploughman's platters. Outside, three picturesque acres complete with carriage and rotunda serve perfectly for boutique weddings and garden parties. It's no surprise that functions are popular at Teavine House, but any visit here feels like a special occasion.

Nestled in the hills of Tallebudgera Valley, Teavine House is simply divine. I attended a small wedding here recently and everything was just gorgeous. The hostess Gaynor is just lovely & welcoming. Her staff are wonderful & helpful. For weddings there's a secluded area with a sweet garden setting for ceremonies & a covered area for receptions complete with floaty white curtains. It's just gorgeous. On the grounds, is a little wrought iron gazebo, an old carriage, wooden doorways, arbours, a bridge, a cute Italian Vespa and more. Everywhere you look is something lovely & sweet. I'm looking forward to going back for High Tea one day.
We phoned 2 days beforehand, asked how much the high tea was, and said we'd like to book for 3 people. When we arrived, its was extremely noisy inside, and we sat down and were told we should hurry up and book before the bigger table or we'd have to wait an hour! We looked at they much menu that they have us,so we'd go ahead and order the high tea. The staff looked at me and said with utter contempt 'no no nobody doesn't work like that! You have to book high tea 24 hours in advance!' Um, we did we said. So the staff brought the man who I presume is the management and they said no I booked you for lunch not high tea. We explained we had booked for high tea but they said 'no you booked for lunch. Well there must have been a misunderstanding. Well you can't have high tea, you'll have to come back for that another time' and walked off! So we reluctantly ordered from the lunch menu as we didn't have time to find somewhere else to eat. We weren't ...read more
